Beach Boys, ACM, Young the Giant, Chickenfoot announce LV shows - Las Vegas Sun

This morning revealed a slate of new Las Vegas concert listings fit for a variety of music tastes.

Ahead of the 47th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards on April 1, the academy will host two days of free public concerts at Fremont Street Experience on Friday, March 30, and Saturday, March 31. The event will be hosted by radio personality Blair Garner and will feature headlining performances from Luke Bryan and Eric Church. Other nominees set to perform include Love and Theft, Hunter Hayes, Brantley Gilbert and "American Idol" winner Scott McCreery on Saturday; and Jana Kramer, Craig Campbell, Eli Young Band and Laura Bell Bundy on Sunday. Each day’s set of performances begin at 7 p.m.

The academy also announced that Bryan and country music stars Sara Evans, Tim McGraw and Jennifer Nettles have been added to the performance lineup for "ACM Presents: Lionel Richie and Friends -- in Concert." The event will be taped Monday, April 2, at MGM Grand Garden Arena and will air on CBS on Friday, April 13. Other artists scheduled to perform include Lady Antebellum, Rascal Flatts and the Band Perry.

Fresh off their Grammy Awards reunion performance last month with Maroon 5 and Foster the People, legendary rockers the Beach Boys are bringing their 50th Anniversary Tour to Red Rock Resort on Sunday, May 27, at 8 p.m. The tour marks the first time that surviving members Brian Wilson, Mike Love, Al Jardine, Bruce Johnston and David Marks have hit the road together in more than two decades. Tickets are $29, $39, $49, $59, $79 and $125 and go on sale Monday, March 12, at 10 a.m.; they can be purchased at any Station Casinos Reward Center and the Fiestas, as well as through Ticketmaster.

The Cosmopolitan announced that SoCal alt-rockers Young the Giant will be performing hits like “Cough Syrup” and “My Body” at its Boulevard Pool on Saturday, May 26, at 9 p.m. Tickets for the show are $22.50 and go on sale this Friday at 10 a.m. via Ticketmaster and the Cosmopolitan’s website.

The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel has revealed two big headliners to play the venue this June. First up is hard rock super group Chickenfoot, featuring frontman Sammy Hagar, guitarist Joe Satriani, former Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony and drummer Kenny Aronoff, who perform Friday, June 1, at 8 p.m. The show is part of the band’s A Different Devil Tour behind their latest record “Chickenfoot III.” Tickets ($39.50) for the concert go on sale this Saturday at noon via Ticketmaster and the Hard Rock box office.

Metal icons Primus play the Joint on Friday, June 22, at 9 p.m. The band returns to Las Vegas to tour behind “Green Naugahyde,” their first album in 11 years. Tickets are $35 and also go on sale this Saturday at noon at the Hard Rock box office and through Ticketmaster.

Former Hootie and the Blowfish frontman-turned-country-singer Darius Rucker announced a performance at Mandalay Bay Beach on Saturday, March 31, at 9 p.m. The concert will feature Rucker's original hits inspired by the likes of Otis Redding and Al Green. Tickets are $40 and are now on sale at the Mandalay Bay box office and through Ticketmaster.
